AVON, S.D.(WNAX)- Farmers Pride, a cooperative based in northeast Nebraska, is buying the Avon Farmers Elevator. The elevator had its bond revoked by the PUC last summer and Farmers Pride leased the grain facilities in September.
Farmers Pride President and C.E.O. Dean Thernes says the lease led to talks with the Avon elevators board of directors.
Thernes says they worked with the PUC to make sure all members were paid what they were owed.
Thernes says the elevator fits well with their service area.
The purchase includes grain facilities, agronomy storage and equipment and bulk fuel delivery.
Farmers Pride has locations in Battle Creek, Bloomfield, Ewing, Laurel, Madison, Newman Grove, Neligh, Oakland, Osmond, Pierce, Plainview and Snyder.
