PARKSTON, S.D. (Press Release) – One person died Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash south of Parkston.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family members. He was the only occupant.
A 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe was northbound on South Dakota Highway 37 when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll. The 53-year-old male driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was later pronounced dead at the Parkston hospital.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
