PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota’s economy did not suffer as much as many other states during the pandemic induced recession.
Jeff Mehlhaff, senior fiscal analyst for the Legislative Research Council says the state got millions of federal dollars over the past few months.
Mehlhaff says ag producers also got federal payments.
Mehlhaff says not shutting down state businesses also kept the economy afloat.
Mehlhaff gave his report last week to the legislature’s Joint Appropriations Committee.
