PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Officials with Feeding South Dakota have announced who will be replacing C-E-O Matt Gassen after 22 years in that role. Feeding South Dakota Board Chair Jim Stavanger says Lori Dykstra of Sioux Falls has been selected from dozens of applicants.
Stavenger says Dykstra’s 20 years of leadership experience is a plus for the organization, but Stavenger says Dykstra won’t be thrown to the dogs right away.
Dykstra begins August 9th and Gassen will step aside on August 31st giving Gassen time to train Dykstra. Stavenger sees opportunity in the transition of management.
Stavenger says one of the larger pandemic-related changes is more mobile food pantry use and bringing food to where it’s needed instead of making people go its fixed pantry locations.
