Feeding South Dakota, Salvation Army partner in food giveaway today

ABERDEEN, S.D. (By Elisa Sand esand@aberdeennews.com) – The Salvation Army, in partnership with Feeding South Dakota, has a food distribution event at the Brown County Fairgrounds today.

Major Mary Hunt with The Salvation Army, said food distribution is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. or whenever all the produce is unloaded from the Feeding South Dakota truck, which is set to arrive at the fairgrounds at 8 a.m.

The distribution event is open to anyone. An estimated 1,000 boxes of produced will be distributed, she said, and one box will be given per household.

“We will give it away until it’s gone,” Hunt said.

Those interested should line up on North Dakota Avenue and enter through Gate F.
