SDGA Junior Championship @ Cattail Crossing in Watertown, SD (Round 3 of 3)
In the final round of the SDGA Junior Championship at Cattail Crossing it Watertown, the state AA champion Bryn Huber of Huron would earn a repeat performance as the medalist. Huber would finish just one shot ahead of Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun. Braun shot a solid 75 for the day and netted three birdies on the day, but came up one stroke short from taking things to a playoff. Miller’s Jayce Pugh carded a 78 for the third day and finished in 4th place. She had seven bogeys and one birdie, as all golfers had to battle the hot temperatures in Watertown. In the boys’ 16-18 division, it was a runaway victory for Watertown’s Jake Olson; he finished the three day tournament seven shots ahead of the competition. He bogeyed just three holes over the course of the entire tournament, to 14 birdies, including a bogey free second round 65. Aberdeen’s Peyton Brust finished in 26th place, carding a 74 for the day, his best performance in the three day tournament. . Check out the full leader-board below.
