PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The State of South Dakota recorded a big jump in sales taxes in the fiscal year that ended June 30th.
State financial analysts, appearing before the Joint Committee on Appropriations called the increase, “historic”.
Nathan Sanderson, Executive Director of the South Dakota Retailers Association, says not all of his members shared in that type of increase.
Sanderson says many retailers are still facing some major issues.
Sanderson says businesses are having to adjust, again.
Sanderson says many retailers are looking past the back-to-school sales time and ordering what they need for the holiday season.
