FREDERICK, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The 12th Annual Finn Fest will take place Friday through Sunday, June 21-23 in Frederick.
There will be a variety of Finnish events during the festivities.
Krysti Mikkonen, President of Frederick Forward, said that things kick off on Friday night.
Saturday includes a full day’s worth of activities.
Teeter-totters are used to determine the winner instead of scales. The winner also receives $500 toward competing in the North American wife-carrying contest in Maine.
The day concludes with a dueling pianos concert.
Finn Fest finishes on Sunday with a church service and meal. Mikkonen noted that nearly all of the events during the weekend are free or have a free-will donation.
