Fire at 400 block of 4th Ave SE

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) – On February 15, 2021 at 0420 hours, Aberdeen Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 400 block of 4th Ave SE. Upon arrival there were flames coming out of a first floor window of a two story apartment house. Tenants of the building had evacuated. One individual was treated for smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital. Crews extinguished flames and rescued a dog from a 2nd story apartment. Brown County Emergency Management provided a warming trailer to rotate crews through as they battled extreme cold temperatures. Crews remained on scene to search for hot spots. The fire remains under investigation.
