BRYANT, S.D.(KWAT)–A half dozen fire departments were on the scene of a large fire early Thursday morning on Main Street in Bryant.
The Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office says the fire was in the 200 block of West Main Street, and was reported around 6:30.
An eyewitness tells KWAT News the fire was in the southwest corner of the W.W. Tire building, where office space is located.
Fire departments from Bryant, Hazel, Lake Norden, Willow Lake, Badger, and Hayti Fire Departments battled the blaze for several hours, and were still on the scene late this morning peeling back portions of the roof looking for areas that were still smoldering.
Also on scene was the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office, Hamlin County Emergency Management, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Norden Ambulance, and the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
The cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries have been reported.
