FORT PIERRE, S.D. (DRG News) – While most of the action at the South Dakota High School Rodeo Association Finals happens in the areas at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre, there are things happening outside of the area as well.

One of those events is the queen contest– an event Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2020 Martina Loobey of Sturgis fondly remembers.

There are five contestants this year and Loobey encourages them to stay focused on their goal, despite the hot temperatures and extra windy conditions we’ve had so far this week.

Miss South Dakota High School Rodeo will be crowned at 5 p.m. Friday.
