Flags at Half-Staff in Remembrance of Victims of Atlanta Shooting

PIERRE, S.D.(Press Release)– Today, Governor Kristi Noem ordered that flags be flown at half-staff, effectively immediately, until sundown on Monday, March 22, 2021, in remembrance of the victims of the shooting in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

This is in response to a proclamation by President Joseph R. Biden, which can be found below.

Please find linked a Presidential Proclamation ordering the lowering of flags to half-staff in honor and remembrance of the victims of the shooting in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.

In the proclamation, the President states:

I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, March 22, 2021.  I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

Our hearts and prayers are extended to the families of those who have lost a loved one in this tragedy.
