Flight missions continue in search for missing plane

ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – Officials are continuing to search for a plane that went missing last week.

The missing aircraft is a single-engine Cessna 172, white with light blue markings. It had one
person on board. Authorities believe the missing aircraft has an emergency locator beacon but
no signal has been detected.

Civil Air Patrol flight missions are continuing again today in both South Dakota and North Dakota; areas in Northern Brown County SD, along with areas in Dickey County, Ransom County, and Sargent County all in North Dakota. Ground crews from Brown County SD worked the Sand Lake and Mud Lake Wildlife Refuge areas.

We are asking for continued support from the public on anything you may find or have heard to please pass on to authorities.

With the South Dakota state pheasant season opener this coming weekend we are asking for hunters to please be on the lookout for anything of interest.
