YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- While health care providers are still seeing people with various illnesses, the numbers seem to be going down.
Liz Healy, infection control specialist at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton says flu infection numbers have decreased.
Healy says they are having fewer people staying in the hospital.
Healy says there was a big surge in flu numbers in the state late last year.
Healy says a flu shot can still be effective in heading off the worst of the illness.
