Former owner of radio stations inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame

CHAMBERLAIN, S.D.(KCCR)- A former owner of K-C-C-R and dozens of radio stations in South Dakota is now forever enshrined in the South Dakota Hall of Fame in Chamberlain,

Dean Sorenson says he’s honored to be joining such a special group of South Dakotans.

Even though his ownership is through Sorenson remains engaged with radio because it’s still important to him.

Sorenson says he know right away what he wanted to do with his life.

While Sorenson not as involved in ownership of stations as he was, his impact on radio in South Dakota continues today.  Riverfront Broadcasting owner Carolyn Becker says Sorenson has a special place in her heart.

What Carolyn and husband Doyle Becker learned from Sorenson is used today in their ownership of stations in Pierre, Huron, Rapid City and Yankton, many of which are former Sorenson Broadcasting stations.

Ten South Dakotans were inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame this year.
