WATERTOWN, S.D.(AlphMedia)–South Dakotans won’t elect their next attorney general for another year and a half, but Marty Jackley hasn’t wasted any time in announcing his intentions.
The former attorney general said earlier this year he’d like the job back.
He’s been traveling the state meeting with voters, including a stop in Watertown late last week.
And he’s been picking up plenty of support.
Jackley, like everyone else, has watched the intense scrutiny police officers are under following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of a now former cop.
Jackley has investigated a number of officer-involved shootings in South Dakota during his time as A-G.
Jackley is also a former U.S. Attorney for South Dakota.
