SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(WNAX)- Former of South Dakota President Jim Abbott has been named interim president and chief executive officer of the USD Discovery Center in Sioux Falls.

He says he couldn’t turn down the offer.

Abbott says the Discovery Center will be an incubator for research and business development.

The eighty acre park is a public-private partnership between USD, the City of Sioux Falls, the Board of Regents, the Governors Office of Economic Development and Forward Sioux Falls.

Abbott says the businesses that locate in the park will offer good opportunities.

Abbott retired from USD in 2018 after serving as President for twenty one years.
