FORT PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Two weeks after essentially firing it’s engineer, the Fort Pierre City Council argued over how the practice should be handled until a new Public Works Director is put in place. The Council at the May 6th meeting voted to not reappoint Rich Hahn as Public Works Director following a lengthy executive session. This week the Council consider acquiring the services of Brosz Engineering for designing projects as needed until a replacement hired. Alderman Rick Cronin was concerned over the detail of the request.
Alderman Todd Bernhard, who voted to keep Hahn two weeks ago, says the Council can’t delay progress.
That brought a terse response from Alderman Greg Kenzy.
After nitpicking at the request for nearly 20 minutes the Council approved a second motion to approve Brosz Engineering excluding half of the originally included items.
