FORT PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- The first half of 2023 has treated Fort Pierre well in terms of tax collections.
City Finance Officer Roxanne Heezen shared the general sales tax numbers with the city council during Monday night’s meeting.
Heezen says “triple B”– or bed, board and booze– tax revenues were also up over 2022.
She says Fort Pierre’s occupancy tax collection was lower, however.
Alderman Todd Bernhard was pleased with the numbers.
Heezen says they’ll use these numbers as they begin to work through their 2024 budget.
