FORT PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- Two volunteer firefighters from Fort Pierre are scheduled are back home after spending this week helping to fight fires on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Engine Boss Tye Odden says he and Trey Stroup were deployed to provide time off for firefighters with the Piedmont Volunteer Fire Department.

Odden says it’s extremely dry in the southwest part of the state.

Odden talks about what he and Stroup have been doing.
