FORT PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- A public meeting will be held tonight in Fort Pierre to answer questions from residents of Hughes and Stanley Counties about a proposed ambulance district that is on its way to the November general election ballot. Costs for service from American Medical Response have increased 300-percent and Hughes County Commission Chair Randy Brown says a District is the most cost effective way to provide a service.
With the latest valuations a proposed District would cost less than previously discussed. Pierre City Commissioner Vona Johnson.
Brown says most of the input he’s gotten is supportive of moving forward with a district.
The formal public hearing on the District is tonight at the Senior Center in Fort Pierre at six P-M. Additional informational meetings are planned leading up the November general election. More information on the district can be found online at csdambulance.com
