FORT PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – The City of Fort Pierre looking to regulate vacation homes after some recent complaints made to City Hall. Public Works Director Rick Hahn says vacation homes or Airbnb-type rental properties are not currently included in city ordinances.

Hahn says the city believes such operations are good for the city.

Hahn didn’t say how many vacation rentals were operating in Fort Pierre before they were told to stop operating. A timeline for presenting any changes to ordinances about Airbnb-type properties was not announced.
