FORT PIERRE, S.D. (DRG News) – Fort Pierre and the Stanley County Fairgrounds will be hosting the South Dakota State High School Finals Rodeo for the next three years.
Finals dates for 2021 are June 15–19.
Over 300 of the state’s top high school rodeo athletes will compete for championship saddles, buckles and prizes along for a place to represent South Dakota on the national team. National High School Finals Rodeo will be Lincoln, Nebraska in July 2021.
The event will be heard through the announcer voices of Sugar Ray Quinn and Terri Kissack. The event will hold five rodeo performances and three cutting and reined cow horse performances. The event will be televised at later dates on South Dakota Public Broadcasting.

The High School Board, at their annual board meeting in September, voted for the location of the State Finals Rodeo to be held at the Stanley County Fairgrounds in Fort Pierre through 2023.
