ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Aberdeen will be celebrating the anniversary of women’s right to vote with a variety of events this evening.
The event is called Forward Into Light.
Laure Swanson, a volunteer who helped to organize the festivities, said things will get started at 5 p.m.
Several notable buildings in town will later be lit up in purple and gold, the official suffrage colors.
Swanson said food and beverage options will be available, including a new beer release by Dakota Territory Brewing Company.
The evening will also feature a livestream national presentation at the Capitol Theatre.
Festivities conclude with a statewide toast around 10:20 p.m.
