ABERDEEN, S.D.(Aberdeen American News)- The four companies that hold the medical marijuana dispensary licenses for Aberdeen have received state and local approval to open medical cannabis dispensaries. And at least two of those companies are hoping to be open for customers this year.

Genesis Farms, LLC, Dakota Herb and Blue Sunrise have received state and local approval for dispensaries in Aberdeen. Genesis Farms has three dispensaries planned at 428 N. U.S. 281, Suite 1; 1812 Sixth Ave. S.E.; and 10 Railroad Ave.

Chief Operating Officer Emmett Reistoffer said he’s hoping to open one of those locations by the end of 2022 with the other two in early 2023.

Dakota Herb also has one dispensary planned at 3307 Seventh Ave. S.E. Suite 110. Chief Executive Officer Dalton Grimmius said they’re hoping to open in November or December.
