Four finalists for NSU President announced by SD Board of Regents

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- Northern State University will welcome four presidential finalists to campus Nov. 5-6, following Monday’s announcement by the South Dakota Board of Regents.

The finalists are:

  • Dr. Amy Clark(Provost & VP for Academic Affairs at Nebraska Methodist College)
  • Dr. Alan LaFave(President of Valley City State University)
  • Dr. Erin Fouberg(VP for Academic Affairs & Director of Graduate Studies at Northern State)
  • Dr. Matt Seimears(President of Lower Columbia College)

Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members will have the opportunity to meet with each candidate during multiple open forums across campus Wednesday, Nov. 5.

“This is an exciting time for Northern State University as we move forward in selecting our next president,” said Dr. Laurie Nichols, interim president of Northern State University. “I encourage members of the Northern community and the public to take part in the open forums with each of the finalists. Gathering broad and thoughtful feedback will be invaluable to the South Dakota Board of Regents as they deliberate and make their decision. The participation and engagement of our campus and community are essential as we look to the future leadership of Northern.”

Alumni and community members are invited to public forums in Centennial Rooms A/B in the Student Center on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

  • 10-11 a.m. — Dr. Amy Clark
  • 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. — Dr. Erin Fouberg
  • 1-2 p.m. — Dr. Matt Seimears
  • 2:15-3:15 p.m. — Dr. Alan LaFave
