Frederick & Westport voters decide no on $10 million school bond

FREDERICK, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Thursday citizens in the Frederick & Westport areas voted on the bond looking into a new school in the Frederick area.  The bond was for $10 million with property taxes going up in the area to pay for it for the next 25 years.  The bond required a 60% approval for it to go into effect.

Here’s the results:

Frederick Community Center was 89 yes and 76 no.

Westport Town Hall was 38 yes and 68 no.

Total tally was 127 yes and 144 no.(46.8% voting yes)

Voter turnout for the special election was 38%.
