ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – New Aberdeen City Manager Joe Gaa is getting acclimated to his new job.

Gaa comes to the Hub City from Dickinson, N.D., where he served as city administrator. Previously, he was city manager in Chariton, Iowa, city administrator for Woodbine, Iowa, and parks administrator for Sebastian County, Ark.

He said it was always a goal to serve in a city the size of Aberdeen.

Aberdeen was one of the few major cities in South Dakota to report positive sales tax revenue this spring. Gaa said he is cautiously optimistic.

He said his main priorities will be the sewer and water system, and the streets.
