ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – If people are looking for a bit of a diversion from all of the COVID-19 talk, gardening provides multiple benefits.
Aaron Kiesz, City Forester with the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, said a big plus is just being outside and getting some fresh air. Plus gardening offers variety.
Other benefits include saving money by having your own produce and controlling what you grow.
There are still plots available at the Aberdeen Community Gardens. Plots are 1,200 square feet are cost $20. Call Parks and Rec at (605) 626-7015 if interested.
Kiesz said you don’t have to be a master gardener to get started.
Kiesz also noted that gardening can be a fun experience for the entire family.
