YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The shutdown of a pipeline supplying gasoline to the east coast will probably have an impact on gas prices in the northern plains.
Shawn Steward with Triple “A” South Dakota says there will probably be some increases.
The pipeline was shut down after their control systems were infiltrated by Russian hackers.
Steward says gas prices react to any disruption anywhere in the country.
Steward says they expect gas prices to continue to rise into the summer travel season.
Steward says gas prices in the state are now approaching $2.90 a gallon compared to a $1.65 a year ago.
