VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – University of South Dakota President Sheila Gestring outlined the progress and challenges facing the school in her annual “State of the University” speech Thursday afternoon.
Among the challenges is the continued drop in student enrollment. Gestring says part of that is due to changes in graduation requirements.
Gestring says they have had success in attracting out of state students and would like to expand that program.
Gestring says they will also again ask the legislature to fund a needs-based scholarship.
