Huron Invitational @ Broadland Creek CC w/ Aberdeen Central; GGID: G25HI

HURON, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – After a second place finish to Mitchell on Tuesday, the Aberdeen Central golf squad flipped the script on the Kernels, en route to a team & medalist victory in Huron at Broadland Creek Country Club.

The Golden Eagles finished collectively twenty three shots ahead of second place Mitchell; Rapid City Stevens, O’Gorman and Brookings rounded out the top five.

Individually, three Aberdeen Central golfers were in the top three spots, led by junior Olivia Braun. Braun carded a (-4, 68) for the afternoon; she was flawless through the first seven holes, picking up four birdies before her first bogey on the par three eight hole. After the one hiccup, it was all even par, with the exception of a birdie on the par five eleventh hole.

The only other player who was below par was her teammate, Kyley Wirebaugh; carding a (-2, 70) for the day, Wirebaugh had birdies on holes: six, seven, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen & eighteen. Rounding out the top three was Emma Dohrer; she finished the day (+4, 76). Dohrer was just one over par on the front and sprinkled in some birdies and bogeys on the back nine.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday at the Yankton Invitational. Check out the full team results & leader board below.
