BRANDON, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – The Golden Eagles are ESD champions.
This past Friday in Brandon, the Aberdeen Central girls golf program had three players in the top five and won the team award & Olivia Braun would medal. On Tuesday, history once again repeated itself. Aberdeen Central pieced together a dominant performance over the field, winning by twenty-two strokes over second place Mitchell & fifty-three shots over third place Brookings & Brandon Valley.
In their final tune-up before the state tournament next Monday & Tuesday, the Golden Eagles are riding quite the wave of momentum.
Oliva Braun, much like on Friday, was the only player who finished under par, carding a (-1, 70) for the day. She would earn birdies on holes five, six, eight on the front & holes ten and sixteen on the back-nine. The next closest competition to Braun was Watertown’s Gabi Olson at nine over par. Braun picked up her third medalist position in the last six days.
Emma Dohrer of Aberdeen Central finished tied for third place with a ten over, 81 in Brandon; while Kyley Wirebaugh placed tied for fifth place with a twelve over, 83 down south.
