Golden West will start project to build high speed internet in rural areas

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Golden West will soon start a project to build high speed internet service into a rural area northwest of Yankton.

Golden West C.E.O. Denny Law says they are working with a state program to expand broadband services.

Law says its part of their fiber optic expansion plan.

Law says they will be able to provide all sorts of audio and video services.

Golden West is getting one point seven seven million dollars for the project from the Connect S.D. program, which will cover about seventy-five percent of the project’s costs.

Construction should start early next year.
