WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- The Goss Opera House, with the support of the Watertown Area Community Foundation Youth Council, plans a “Passport to the Arts” program to introduce youth to art in our community. Students will “stamp their passports” as they adventure into art explorations at no cost to participants or their families.
Exploring theater is the first stamp the students have the opportunity to explore with Dakota Players. From auditions, through the week of rehearsals, to concluding their week with public performances – students will learn all the roles that go into making theater productions possible.
Kathryn Jurrens, the Goss community engagement coordinator, said there would be roles for more than 50 children in the production.
Dakota Players has already put on one production at the Goss, and Jurrens said they want to make it accessible to everyone.
Other Passport to the Arts programs are in the works at the Goss, covering different aspects of the arts.
