Gov. Noem banned by 6th Native American tribe in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Dakota News Now has learned that a sixth tribe in South Dakota has banned Governor Kristi Noem.

The Yankton Sioux Tribe has voted to ban the Governor following a special meeting Friday. At the meeting with the tribal council, Representative Ryan Cournoyer made a motion.

The Motion to ban Noem from the Yankton Sioux Tribe passed and will now be made official with paperwork in the coming hours.

The ban comes in response to Noem’s comments regarding cartels on the reservations.

This latest ban means the Governor is not allowed on six of the nine reservations in South Dakota.
