Gov. Noem extends school closure, executive order for state employees

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The number of positive coronavirus cases in South Dakota rose to 30, with new cases reported in Beadle and Brookings Counties.

Governor Kristi Noem says she is extending her executive order for state employees.

Noem also ordered the K-12 school closure extended.

Noem, who earlier said that up to 30 percent of people in the state could become infected, said people shouldn’t panic when the positive numbers jump.

Beadle County now has 13 positive cases, with five in Minnehaha and two in Davison and McCook Counties.
