Government sorting out the rules for housing infrastructure

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- While the South Dakota legislature has approved two hundred million dollars for housing infrastructure development, the rules on how to use it are still being written.

Dave Mingo, Community and Economic Development Director for the City of Yankton says they do know that thirty percent of the money is set aside for Sioux Falls and Rapid City.

Mingo says there are a few projects under development that may qualify.

Mingo says they understand that most projects will need a public partner.

The money would be mostly used for building roads and sewer and water systems into housing development areas.
