Governor Noem defend Donald Trump as hush money case gets underway

CASTLEWOOD, S.D.(KELO)- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem spoke out against the hush money case against Donald Trump.

ON CNN’s State of the Union, Noem accused Democrats of using the trial to derail Trump’s presidential campaign.

Trump is accused of falsifying records to cover up “hush money” payments to an adult film star before he was elected in 2016.

Noem says the case against Trump lacks merit.

Noem said she wanted Americans to see for themselves what she called a ‘politically motivated’ prosecution.

Opening statements in Trump’s case are happening today.
