Governor Noem signs antisemitism bill

PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- New protection and humble gratitude from one of South Dakota’s smallest minorities.

Governor Kristi Noem signed a new law last week that defines antisemitism for investigations into unfair and discriminatory practices.

Jewish leaders from across the country attended the bill signing.

South Dakota Rabbi Mendel Alperowitz says the new law is comforting in light of the rise in antisemitic acts since the Hamas attack on Israel last October.

South Dakota has the fewest number of Jewish people of any state in the nation.
