RAPID CITY, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem signed a bill Thursday that provides 100% tuition reimbursement for members of the South Dakota National Guard at the state’s six public colleges and four technical colleges.

She signed House Bill 1039 in Rapid City, at a deployment ceremony for the 216th Fire Fighting Detachment at the Range Road Armory.

Noem says its taken quite a while to get to this point.

Noem says the plan is flexible for guard members and their families.

The bill sets aside about two million dollars for the tuition reimbursements
