Governor Noem this week spent time at the Southern Border

EAGLE PASS, T.X.(DRGNews)- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem was one of a handful of republican governors who gathered earlier this week at Eagle Pass, Texas, to see what’s happening along the US-Mexico border.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott hosted the event.

The other governors present were Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen and Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.

Abbott says other states are also supporting their efforts.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

Noem has been to the border before, but she said this was her first time getting a good view of the situation from the air.

Noem called the federal policies regulating the situation at the southern border “inhumane.”

Mexico’s government has recently raised concerns with the US about large buoys Texas put on the Rio Grande to deter migrants, but Abbott stands by his decision.

A federal hearing about the buoys was held Tuesday, but the judge hasn’t announced his decision.
