PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem says the state will challenge a federal judges ruling that lets the National Park Service ban July Fourth fireworks at Mt Rushmore.
She says its important to hold the celebration.
Noem says the fireworks highlights state tourism.
Noem says they didn’t get a good explanation for the cancellation.
Noem says the state could spend up to $150.000 on the legal challenge.
If successful, the earliest fireworks would be at Mt. Rushmore is 2022.
