PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Governor Larry Rhoden signed two bills(SB96 & SB245) addressing property tax relief into law on Thursday.
Senate Bill 96 was the governor’s own proposal. He said it gives counties an optional tool for property-tax reduction.
He said the other measure — Senate Bill 245 — lowers the mill levy in the general fund for owner-occupied properties.
The governor thanked House Speaker Jon Hansen for cooperating to get both bills passed.
Both bills goes into effect on July 1st.
