ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- The 107th annual Convention of the American Legion Department of South Dakota was held in Aberdeen this weekend. Among the speakers this year was South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden.
Governor Rhoden credited members of the South Dakota legion for the work that they do.
The Governor talked about his relatives who have previously served in the military including himself.
Rhoden talked about the freedoms enjoyed by South Dakotans because of those who have served in the military.
Rhoden discussed honoring those who have sacrificed their lives in the military being honored on bridges all across the state.
He believes that South Dakota treats their veterans with respect.
Rhoden is the first Governor to previously serve in the South Dakota National Guard since former Governor Joe Foss.
