Governor Rhoden hosted Meet & Greet at Allevity

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Governor Larry Rhoden hosted a meet and greet Friday night at Allevity in Aberdeen.

District 3 Representative Al Novstrup talks about Governor Rhoden’s campaign.

Governor Rhoden talked about his time as Governor.  He talks about being accessible to legislators in Pierre.

One example is working to get the property tax bills through the legislature this year.

Congressman Johnson has been critical of those bills calling for sale tax increases not just on the state level but also on the county and city level.  Governor Rhoden broke down each claim.  He starts with the sales tax increase that will go from 4.2 to 4.5% in 2027.

Rhoden talks aboout the half cent county tax which was a part of his bill(SB96) which is optional.

Rhoden talks about the one cent city tax which actually could save money to the city.  He stated the example of the Premiere Center in Sioux Falls.

A coalition group(South Dakotans for Fair Taxes) are looking to try refer SB245 to the voters in November.  Governor Rhoden reacted to that.

Governor Rhoden talks about why he’s best qualified to remain Governor.

Rhoden talks about his concerns about some of the misleading ads being run in these campaigns.

The election will happen on Tuesday, June 2nd.
