GPAC Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll

Sioux City, IA (gpacsports.com) – Northwestern College totaled 121 points and was picked first in the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Coaches’ Volleyball Poll. The Red Raiders garnered eleven of the twelve first place votes.

Concordia, was picked second in the poll with 111 points and one first place vote. Midland was just over 100 points at 101 in third. Morningside came in fourth with 85 points with the College of Saint Mary rounding out the top five with 82 points. In all, six GPAC squads made the NAIA National Championship tournament with Northwestern, Concordia and Midland all advancing to the final site of the NAIA Tournament, with the Red Raiders finishing as NAIA Runner-up.

Northwestern, Concordia and Jamestown were the GPAC Regular Season tri-champions. The Red Raiders went on to win the GPAC Tournament Championship in 2023. In all, six teams from the GPAC were ranked or receiving votes in the final NAIA poll.

The 45th Annual NAIA National Volleyball Championship is set for November 23 – December 10, with action at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa on December 4-10. The GPAC regular and postseason champions will earn the automatic berth to the NAIA Volleyball Championship.

The 2024 GPAC volleyball season will consist of 16 conference matches with 12 teams competing for the conference crown. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the preseason poll.
