YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – A grant program set up by the South Dakota legislature for small businesses and healthcare providers has extended the application deadline to Friday. (October 30th)
State Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says the applications have been slow so far.
Hunhoff says some of the other requirements to qualify have been backed down.
Hunhoff says the numbers show the lack of participation.
The legislature set aside $400 million for small businesses, and over $100 million dollars for healthcare providers. The money was part of the $1.2 billion the state got from the federal government for pandemic relief.
