Groton Legion Post 39 9 – Colby Dunker 2-3, 3RBI. Bradin Althoff 3-3, 2 runs scored + 3RBI.
- On Monday night from Groton, the Post 39 squad had to play catch up & play catch up, they did. Trailing Claremont Post 262, 7-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, Groton had a lot of work to do & they’d post a three spot in the bottom half of the frame to come within striking distance. Post 262 would respond with another run in the top of the seventh and they’d enjoy an 8-5 lead, but Groton would walk things off in the 7th inning with four runs in a 9-8 win. Colby Dunker was 2-3 at the dish with three RBI + Bradin Althoff was a perfect 3-3 with a pair of runs scored, he also knocked in three. In some middle relief, Brevin Fliehs went four innings and surrendered a pair of runs, but also kept Post 262 fairly quiet, as he struck out six batters in the walk off win. With the victory, Groton Legion Post 39 improves to 13-7 on the year.
