Groundbreaking set for new arena in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA News) – Groundbreaking of the new arena in Rapid City has arrived – which means we’ll be seeing some temporary changes, and some permanent changes immediately. A year has passed and planning for the new arena has included working with and negotiating with the construction manager and building designer and various team members. To mark this historic event, Mayor Steve Allender said there is a ceremony planned for Saturday.

The festivities will include unveiling of the name.

A ground breaking will take place on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m.
